cam selection

what cam specs should I look at for my 1987 305H with a roller cam for performance and not one that would lope me out of my seat its all stock still and I plan to keep the quadrjet ccc carb

This has got to be one of the most commonly asked questions on this board, right next to the same question about a L03. Here's a link to a handful of recent replies.

You won't see much from a cam until you fix the exhaust. Kind of like, you can't fix constipation by eating more. But when you are ready, I'd sugget the Comp 08-300-8, which is also known as a 262HR-12. Your 87 has the roller setup. Be sure to replace the valve springs and all their hardware at the same time (get the kit from Comp).
