the oil pressyre gauge in my iroc is reading way high. it's so high I can't tell what it reading is. Do I need a new oil pump?? Is it bad to run with too high of oil pressure??

Check to see if the wire is on the sender. When I knocked off mine, it pegged the needle.

Exactly, also, the gauge might be bad now. I know when I got my car, the gauge was pegged and had an aftermarket one hooked up.Originally posted by EvilCartman

hey guys, i got a quick question for you on this subject. When you say pegged, do you mean it stays there all the time, even when the cars off? The gauge on my 83 is real high, and I'm getting that problem with the gauge on my 95 Jeep grand cherokee too. So mark, your saying the gauges could be blown because of this? Thanks guys,

Like said, it might just be a wire connection problem, or it could be the gauge, it's easier and cheaper to check the wire first. My stock gauge is always pegged.
