Hey Guys Need Your Help With Heads List!
ok, as some of you might have heard i have a cracked head and now the birds been sitting dead. my question is what will i need to do, and what do i have to order, ( i have a 91 firebird, 305 TBI engine E )
Now any tips you guys have? and what parts to i need to order?

No time like the present for an upgrade. http://www.worldcastings.com/docs/catalog/pg09.pd, p/n 042750-1, available from www.competitionproducts.com. Add head, valve cover and intake gaskets, you're ready to roll again.
The heads respond well to a pocket porting job, but even without they'd be a nice step up from your swirl ports.

sorry, ive only pulled the springs off once from a set of heads that were already puled.

oh yea, i want CHEAP!!!! but decent not to screw over next person, its a 305. im looking into a GTA next with ttops...

When you pull your heads off it would be a good idea to make sure that the decks of the engine block itself are not warped. If they are the surface of the head(s) that mate with the the block may not seal causing a similar problem to a cracked head. You can check them for straightness with a good straight edge and feeler gauges. I don't know the exact tolorances but I bet some one else here does.
