Ok now that the starting problem is figured out and my rearend was fixed........ Well now my trunk wont shut. The little latch thing is stuck in the down position. I know that it works because I tried prying it up with a little luck and I turned the key and it went back down. I cant get that thing to slide back up the rails though. Im hoping that this is common. Is there any way to short it out so it will come back up? Thanx

if u look down in the locking mechanism, you will see a switch that u have to push down, kinda like a rocker switch, and the thing will return to the top. Just get a flashlight, look down where the latch of the hatch goes into, and you should be able to find it after playing around with it.

i can try and get a picture if u need me to

Wait are you talking about the actual lock switch? The latch? Because I fooled with that thing several times with no luck. And Ive tried prying that damn thing and it wont budge.

There are two switches on the latch motor. You can find one inside the teeth of the latch. When you push it the motor starts to go down. Hold it down until the motor goes all the way down and stops, then let go and the motor should rise all the way back up allowing you to close the hatch.

The other switch is on the side of the motor and is more like a toggle switch than the momentary switch inside the latch. It's flipped whenever the motor gets to the top or bottom of it's travel to reverse it's direction.
