Weird ingnition problem

Ok here is the deal, while driving my car my ingnition indermitenly cuts out. When I mean cut out I mean the car will almost die for just a second. The tach will drop all the way to down to 0 then come back up. It seems to be a loose connection somewhere because it will cut out over bumps, but i cant seem to find a loose connection anywhere. My aftermarket shift light will go off when the ingnition cuts out. I disabled the tach lead to the shift light and it still goes off. I assume the shift light is going off because of an interupt in power. I have an msd 6al box. I disconnected it and ran the stock stuff, but the problem continued. I dont think it is a ground issue because the shift light is on a seperate ground, but the power for the shift light is connected to my main disturbution block.( i had my battery moved to the back so i have a block with all my positve stuff hooked up to it.) I traced the power for my shift light down to the block(everything looked good there) then followed about a 4* wire down to my starter where it met up with my 1* main battery wire(no apparent problems there). When the igniton cuts out nothing else other than the shift light acts up, no lights dimming or flickering or anything like that. Am I on the right track with thinking the problem is in the power supply side? What and how should I check next. I searched the board for simmilar problems, but found nothing. Any and all feedback are welcome.

Please help

I don't know if this will help. But here it is.

Look at the connections at the control module. make sure they are tight, and not dirty Or any part of the distributer hitting the wires.

If you suspect that you might have a bad ignition module, don't even waste your time to have it tested, just replace it. My car wouldn't start after I put the motor back in and the first then that I suspected was the ignition module so I had it tested and it tested fine, so I banged my head against the wall for 3 more days trying to figure it out. After checking everything else that I thought it could be, I decided the just replace the module anyway and low and behold it fired right up.

Found the problem to be a power wire in a wiring harness that had made contact with a header tube, causing it to short out.
