While in the process of tearing into the '86 sLuG4 I came across a part I'm not familiar with. It looks similar to a F.I. fuel filter on a compact. It's mounted at the back of the intake manifold, under the distributor near the throttle/t.v. bracket. Seems to have a fitting and short pipe on one end and a connector on the other. Got some ideas on it ,but rather hear it from the experienced

 

i believe its the oil sendin unit but i aint sure. all i know is when i swapped the 305 for the 350 i broke the darn thing off flush with the intake took me a bit to get it out.

 

kid camaro has got it right. it is the oil pressure sending unit.

 

i was right lucky guess eh hehe i hate that darn thing.
