Very odd TPS voltage problem...anyone heard of this??
I was driving home today and my SES light came on. When I got home I pulled a code 22 which is either low TPS voltage at idle or fuel cutoff switch problem.
First of all I was doing like 60 when the light started coming on.
Second of all I just set the TPS voltage last night. Not only did I set it to the correct .54 with a meter, I also had my WinALDL program running to double check the voltage.
What could have caused this code?? I would assume a fuel cut-off problem would have either killed the engine or caused a stumble of some sort??

The TPS is brand new and it moves smoothly from .54 to around 4.2 volts.
I reset the computer and double checked the voltage today and the problem occured again.
Anyone else have any ideas??

I have been experimenting with my TPS also. Mine went bad on me about 2 days ago. As far as I can see, the TPS is not at fault in your setup. Mine reads EXACTLY .54v closed and 4.20V at WOT. I would look elsewhere for a problem. Your TPS doesn't seem to be on the fritz.
There is more to the TPS circuit than the sensor itself. Don't overlook the connections and wiring.
Another thing to consider is the position of the throttle shaft. If your TB is worn and the shaft is binding, you may not have been at the completely closed position when you set the TPS voltage.

When I used to work in a tune-up shop, we would check the TPS sensor voltage with an o-scope.
I've seen them check good with a digital voltmeter, but when hooked to the o-scope, noise could be seen at certian throttle positions. Computers hate noise..
An old analog style voltmeter might help you see it.
Look for the needle to drop momentarily (or act erratic) as you very, very slowly advance the throttle.

I was talking to Fast Chip today about some other things and the guy told me to turn my TPS voltage up to .65. I'll see if it worked when I go to work tomorrow. If not I have a spare new TPS in my toolbox that I will try.

Also the throttle body is a brand new Edelbrock 58mm.
And by the way. If anyone would like to know what was causing my nasty power loss above 1500 RPM's, my DVOM is bad!!! I set the TPS to .54 with it and when I put my laptop on with WinALDL it only read like .3 so I set the TPS by the laptop and rechecked the setting with the meter. The meter said like .83 so then I got a meter from a friend and sure enough .54 on the money!!!!
