HELP! Headlight switch problem and it's getting dark...

I know this belongs in the electronics forum, and I already posted over there, but this is an emergency and there's a lot more people browsing over here.

I removed my headlight **** to get the dash bezel off and now I cn't get it back in. I pushed the release to remove it and it came out, no problem. But trying to put it back in it won't lock in, it just pulls right out without turning the lights on. Is there a trick to this? Please help, I don't want to be stuck home all night and daylight is fading fast...

Yeah, looks like I'm off to buy a new switch in the morning. I did push the release though. Wouldn't have even known it was there if I wasn't following MacEwen's instructions to a T.

Thanks for the reply.
