i welded a 3/8" bolt in the sump area for the ground. ran the power cable thru the passenger compartment, but looks don't matter much to me. you'd want a battery box that vents outside the car ,moroso. you also might want to consider a ford selonoid

Before you consider relocating the battery, are you doing it for simple street performance or do you intend to take it to a drag strip?

To pass a tech inspection there are a few rules that need to be done or they won't let you race. If it's strictly for the street then you can do anything you want.

I have some pics on my web site on where my battery is mounted at the rear. Actually I now have 2. One on either side. It's a race car so cosmetics isn't a factor.

the car is just for street, i want to relocate it because i want to use the spot its currently taking up for other things =P, would it be fine grounding it in the back, or should i take the ground wire back up to the engine?

I ground mine right to the body. Just make sure you grind down to clean metal for a good connection.

I did liek ede did. Welded a bolt to the trunk floor to be sure I got a good ground. You don't have to run it all the way to the engine bay. Adding a good ground strap to the motor isn't a bad idea however.
