Will a Code 24 (VSS) affect performance or driveability?
Im running around without a working speedo right now...cause I did a auto-to-5 speed swap a couple weeks ago and the trans is out of a 91 Formula and my car is in 83 T/A. As im sure all of you know...the 83 is a cable speedo and the 91 is electronic. And the adapters in the trans arent even close to being the same size so swap them. On the plus side, my 86 S10 looks to have the same size at the 91 trans, so Ill try to stick one of those in there. Anyway, the only code it is showing is a code 24....which translates to an inoperable or malfunctioning VSS. Will this affect performance, or fuel mileage in any way? Please let me know as I am very curious to know if this is doing anything. Thanks all

I have driven with a code 24 for 3 years and do not have one problem with the car. Everthing is the same as it was before the speedo was broke.
