Recently at start-up car puffs a decent amount of white smoke, occasionally blue, and sometimes and idle it smokes. (can see it in the headlights of the cars behind me when accelerating from a stop. Valve seals guess are shot. But could the rings be as well?
and how mch are we talking to repair this stuff? .heh.

I was quoted something like 250.00 for my valve stem seals a few years back from a Pontiac dealer I worked at. I never got it done and the car seems to be fine. I get it just at start up.

 

run a compression test to check the rings. call whoever you want to work on your car for prices, or where you buy your parts, there is a big differance in differant areas of the country.
