Question about Distributor

I would like to get a distributor the size of the later style thirdgen ones. BUt I need it to have vacuum advance. Can I convert a electronic one to vacuum? Or is there someone that makes one that is the small style but vacuum advance? Or am I stuck with the huge HEI one? thanks

The Later Third gen style distributor is computer-controlled.
That's why it doesn't have a vacuum advance....it doesn't have any centrifical advance either. If your F-body isn't computer controlled, any of the aftermarket distributors for chevy should work. The MSD ready-to-run model doesn't require any external controller, has a vacuum advance and a smaller cap.
The Pro-Billet Ready-To-Run is part#8360 and is $246.95 at Summit.

Yeah I thought that one might work I was hoping to find one a little cheaper. Is there anyway to convert a computer controlled one to a vacuum advance one?

Unless I am wrong, I believe you have to get rid of your computer. Or else, your computer will control this. THere is a thread in the carb board. It is the sticky, that stays at the top of the page. A whole page in there about computer controlled and non computer controlled. Hope this helps
