need help on vortec heads

Hi i need help with my 87 GTA 5.7. I plan on getting vortec heads and putting them on my GTA its a Stock TPI 350. I need to know what i need to put them in? To run correctly, I have Edelbrock headers, will they bolt up correctly? And what else is need to make everything work right and help would be great.Thanks

Youll need a different tpi intake base. scoggin-dickey, umong others, sells em. Thers also a whole bunch of other issues to be delt with when you get a cam. The pressed in studs will give problems, do a search on the boards.

i just want to slap on some vortec heads and the vortec intake.

Wouldn't we all. It's never that simple. Search the boards
for past posts about prepping vortec heads for your motor.

If all you want to do is bolt on the head and intake, then you shouldn't have a problem. But if you plan a cam swap in the future, you should look into upgrading the springs. You will need to reloacate your coil, the intake uses a different torque pattern/specs, headers shoudl bolt up fine. The intake will need a couple little things, plugging unused holes and such. Other than that should be a standard head swap.
