Hey guys,

I just switched intake's from an airgap to a stealth. I just finished getting everything back together and now when I go to start the car the little black wire that splits off from the negative battery cable and grounds to the passanger side fender starts to burn up and smoke.

What would cause this??

Failure to hook up the big negative cable, or a bad connection somewhere between its connection point and the starter.

 

get out the flash light and take your time...start lookin for pinched wires under the intake and valve covers.

 

Ah i found it, that 2 wire plug that goes into the alternator was broken inside the plug thing, replaced the wire and it stoped smoking, now if it would only start! agh! I can't figure it out. I took the timing to tdc on the #1 plug and it just keeps cranking... everynow and then the carb will spit some gas up but it dosn't turn over at all. =[ any ideas?
