wire to hei dist. ?
ok guys i am doin my 350 carb swap and i need to know if there are any wires such as a power wire or sumtin that i need to run to my hei dist. its the summit one with the coil in the cap. or do i just drop it in and hook up the plug wires and away i go?? thanks alot guys

There are two connectors on the cap..one says Batt. and the other says tach..the fat pink wire goes to the bat terminal and I believe a brown/tan wire from the same clip goes to tach. As said you will need the spade connectors.
They plug in to the cap on the side you will see if you give it a good look.

i found the big pink wirte but the only wires i see that are brown or tan splice into wires goin into the fuel pump relay

well i cut the plugs off of everything that the comp controled but i saved all the plugs just incase sumtin like this happened. so i find the plug that goes to the coil with the big pink wire comin out and macxth the other wire comin out of it with the wire under hood and thats the tach. thanks man. any other info u know of to help me with wireing cause i got the 350 and the trans in tonight ands just need to hook up wires to get her to pur

pretty basic with the HEI ignition.....alternator (sp)..starter..I think about 7 connections...The starter and alternator use the same wires as before. Its a good Idea to lable the wires as you take them off while doing a swap.....but as they say..hind sight is 20/20..How about the wires to the tranny...you will need them connected for the L/U to work on the TC..Did you leave the ECM in tact? If not , you will have to wire in a lock-up switch. Without L/U you will produce alot of heat by friction. And we all know high temps kill trannies

really good actualy, i got the 350 and the trans in like 2 nights ago then yesterday i didi the drive shaf filled the trranny with oil and finished the wireing, oh and put the accesory brackets on. i just need to find a place that sells that black plastic tubing that u put the wires in so they aren't everywhere. i just need to do the radiator and put the dist. in and some other little stuff but i should be able to start it this weekend, man i can;t wait to hear that cam lol. well thanks for everyones help. oh and is there anyways i can test the white wire for the tach to make sre i got the right wire? or do i have to wait till i start iut up?

I became obsessed when I got that close....I had to finish! Im putting my new tranny & 3000 stall in this weekend cant wait to wake up this 327.
