Do a "LT1 Cam" search in the TBI board. It's a very common swap for a TBI 305. I don't know how well it'll work with a TPI, but I guess there's one way to find out.

It's a great cam if you're on a budget and not real serious about power, but if that's not the case I'd go with a more aggressive aftermarket cam. It's 100x better than the peanut cam for sure, a stock LT4 cam would be a step up if you can find one.

One more thing: you need to grind the dowel pin on the front of the cam to make sure it fits.

ahh thanks guys... y wouldn't it be good for a TPI set up... i figured that if the lt4 is good, y not just get a lt1 from a junk yard or ebay, its not that im on a buget ( i am) , its that the lt4 works better with 1.6 rockers, and then i gotta get into the valve springs... ahhhhh yea... for 18yr old, with no free time to scratch my a$$, it would be better for the lt1 to do, also if the l98 cam can squeze out 25 more hp out of my 305 .. then the lt1 should get a little bit more... i plan to save up money for the big 350 or 383 swap one day... hey gotta start saving sometime!! anyone know where one could find data on a 383 with 450hp and with a LT1 set up?... wana get some prices... aight guys thanks agian

I'm using an LT1 cam on a 305 TPI and it pulls hard right to the rev limiter (set at 6K) It gets me good mileage, and with the exhaust work, and ported heads, it's a nice cam. I eventually plan on putting my ZZ4 cam in the 305, but that's about as far as I'm going to go. Try the LT1, you'll like it, just port the heads.
