Ok bud how fast you wanna go? BTW forget the vortecs with your 400 they are very timing sensitive lightweight castings ( read blown head gaskets) Sportsman 2's are a better bet thicker
flow comparable and cost comparable by the time you pay for the heads (450 to 550 depending on the lift you wanna run) and the extra 80-100 for the Intake RPM. What trans, rear gearing,stahl,A/C?,Surely not emissions.

Naa.. the 400 is going the be the project motor. I'm just adding as far as headers and can on the stock 305. The 400 is another ball game.

F-Bird'88 ran a few simulations for me with my 305 Camaro. Basically, Quarter Jr. said I'd run around 13.7-13.8 with Vortec flow-like heads, shorty headers, Crane PowerMax 266 cam (.440 and .454 lift), 3000 stall converter and 3.73 gears.
Sound good?

You bet! stock bottom end with 90k, It loves going 6300 revs. Just got the heads shaved abit so that brought my cr up alittle. And to boot its only a 2 bolt main.
