engine installation questions

hi, im about to install a new rebuilt engine.... i have a few quick questions.... when im bolting it up to the transmission, do i need some kind of gasket? or is it just straight metal on metal? the torque converter seems to slide around, is this normal? lots of transmission fluid leaked out of it some how, is it gona leak again when i bolt it up to the fly wheel? or will it some how seal itself? i have an 89 trans am GTA 5.7L i also have a few more questions about converting from TPI to carb. yes i have read the tech article about it. what is the best/cheapest route to go with the fuel pump? mine is an in-tank fuel pump, and i dont know what i should do with it.... its gona be a real bitch to remove it, so is it better to just get a fuel pressure regulator and wire up the old pump some how? and ideas would be greatly appreciated... thanks.

no gasket, the TC is bolted to the flex plate, it doesn't move any. grease the outter part of the TC where it contacts the fronyt pump seal in the trans to keep from burning up the seal before it has a chance to get oil on it. run a mechanical and leave the eletric alone and unhooked.

ok, do you mean, a mechanical fuel pump? if so, how do i leave the electric one unpluged? doesnt it have to be pumping gas out? shouldnt i just replace the whole fuel pump with a new one?
