weird noise and i dont know what it is

sometimes when i start my car (84 z28, LG4 engine) i hear a squealing noise from the engine..and the noise gets louder when i rev up..but it goes away after 15seconds or so...anyone know what that noise is?

Try some belt dressing, go to a local parts store and get some. Read the instructionsm, try it, and if it doesn't cure the problem, repost the result.

a worn out belt. check your belt(s) for crack or general wear.

Maybe just needs the belt tightened... it's the alternator belt BTW
