A real simple question about the stock LG4 intake manifold
Ok this is a real simple one, but I was just wondering...What is that bolt on the intake manifold, right underneath the carburetor? The big one, about an inch diameter.

It's actually a plug, where tehy filled the hole left over from drilling the hole through the plenum divider, which is where the EGR feeds into the intake.
let me get this straight ...Removed my aluminum intake last night...noticed the divider bored out. Exhaust gases come up from the cavity that the bore created? And does anyone know what the riveted on pan is for underneath the intake? It has one small hole in it ...

It is to keep the oil from splashing up onto the exhaust-heated runner under there and turning to ash.
The hole is so that any oil that gets around its edges can drain back out.
