want to trash the 882 heads, but what to go with?
i finally installed my roller rockers last night and i noticed that i have the garbage 882 casting heads on there. I want to get rid of these pretty much immediatly, because they are about the last choke point on my motor. The question is what to go with as replacements. I don't really want to go with an iron head like a vortec or iron eagle. I also cannot afford a set of AFRs. That being said, i'm looking at a set of trickflows, but am in a toss up between the regular 23* heads, and the G2 twisted wedge heads. Being that there both about the same price, which would give me more power? I'm not against go with something different than those two if they cost about the same, and will yield better gains. One thing though, i would like them to work with the rockers i just bought, and they need to be assembled. Sooo... heres the engine combo:
9.5:1 compression stock bottom end
272H crane cam (.454 lift with 1.5r, .484 with 1.6r, 218* dur, 112 lobe sep)
Summit stamped roller tip rockers (1.6)
Edelbrock performer intake
non cc qjet and HEI dist.
Edelbrock TES headers, and catback with hi flo cat
t-5 tranny
3.42 gears
any thoughts and opinions are more than welcomed...

With that cam I would go with the pro lightning aluminum 180's. There is a shop by me that sells them for $940 but they are like $1100 from summit. These are supposed to be nicer castings than trick flows.

you know i've heard abut these, is there a website for these guys? I may have to look into those...
any other suggestions?
Eric
EDIT: just checked out the specs in Summit, and that seems like way to much for my application. They talk about spinning at like 7500-8000 rpm. Lets not forget that my cam only has 218* dur. I don't really want or need to take this motor past 6K.
