Cranking problem

Assuming everything on my car works and is hooked up correctly, if I pulled the distributor out, then the engine should crank as long as I am trying to start it, right?

yeah ong as all you do is pull the distributor it'll still crank, might not get a lot of spark but it'll crank and turn over.
