Trick flow 23* w/ 1.6rr, what length pushrod?

I'll be purchasing a set of trick flow 23* heads at the end of the month (pn3040002), and i'll be using a set of summit stamped 1.6 roller tipped rockers (pn141507). The cam i'm using is a crane 272H (.454" 218 dur, 112 lsa). Now the only thing i've got left to figure out is what length pushrods i need. Now stock length is 7.800" correct? I'm told that the stock length may work, or i might have to go to a set of 7.850" pushrods. What i'm trying to do is eliminate the guess work here, and do everything correct the first time. I'll also be using trick flows gasket set (pn31400905). Can anyone shed some light as to which pushrods i'll be needing, and verify that everything else in this combo is gonna work out for me?

Thanks for the help,

Eric

EDIT: forgot about harware. Should i be investing in a good set of hardware for these things, or do they come with it, or will my factory bolts be sufficient? (if i need to buy something, a pn would be great)

I was kinda hoping to avoid getting those. I figured someone would be running the same or similiar combo to mine an could just tell me. Thanks for the help anyway though...

it would be a wonderful world if someone could predict that for you... if i could do it, i could make lots of money doing it for everybody. i've been building modified motors of various sorts for decades now, and haven't found a way to do that. There's too many variables.

I have an adjustable push rod in my box of engine building measuring tools, along with the micrometers, dial indicators, etc.; and I use it on just about every motor I build.

I can tell you that for every .050" of cam lobe lift above about .275", you should add .050" of push rod if nothing else is changed. That doesn't apply here though.

What head gaskets are you using? If you put those heads on a motor with .015" gaskets with perfect length push rods, and then change to Fel Pro 1044s which are .050", your push rods will appear .035" too short just as a result of that one change! Almost enough all by itself to necessitate replacing them.

Buy an adjustable push rod and do it right the first time, be patient, the extra couple of days wait won't kill you and may well repay you in cash by way of not destroying parts from a wrong guess.

Can I borrow them when you're done?

I haven't gotten that far into my build up yet.

I might be borrowing a set myself.....

EDIT: what about bolts and stuff? should i just re-use my stock stuff?

One last question, who wants to take bets on what kind of power this thing will be making? It's making right around 290- maybe 300 with the 882 heads (traps 99.3 mph), so what do you all think it'll be making with the trick flows???????
