I need a clutch strong enough to hold up to the ported vortec headed extreme energy 284 cammed 11:1 motor in my firebird................I was driving home today and decided to do a little 1/4 mile run with 3 people in the car and after 1st gear the engine justed revved and the clutch slipped BAD and starting making a really bad burning smell. Do you guys think I ****ed up my clutch for good? How long do You think i've got until total melt down? Whats the STRONGEST longest lasting clutch I can get for the T-5? I could buy a centerforce dual friction pressure plate from my friend for REAL cheap, but what clutch disk should I get, or does it even matter.........I had a RAM clutch in there before......stock replace. for a 350.

The CD DF pressure plate is nothing special, the DF part is the disk. It has a more or less normal friction material on one side, and a semi-metallic or something on the other.
IMHO it would definitely be a good choice. Get the DF setup.

Ok, but I can only get the pressure plate from my friend........he already fried the centerforce clutch that the setup came with.......so should I spend money on the centerforce disk then?
