Oil Pressure

Alright here goes....

Well my oil presuure gauge has been going from 30 up to 60, and lately it goes past the 60 mark. And that happens when i take off after that hen it will stay at 60 and start going down. I have done nothing to it but put a new thermostat

Any suggestions would be helpful as to what it might be and what to get. (Bear with me-im kinda new at this guys)

I would check your connections, and make sure the sending unit is working properly.

rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm. going up and down isn't bad and 60 or so isn't bad. like mark said the senders and known to fail or give inaccurate readings. to be sure screw a mechanical gauge in the block somewhere. there is a gauge tester, but i doubt if you have one or can find anyone with one, but that would help pin point your problem.
