lt4 cam

Once I get my Camaro and get some basic mods done I am going to upgrade the cam. Few questions, will an lt4 cam work in an a 305 tpi like a lb9? If I got an l98, how much, an estimate, of how much it will cost to get cam and all necessary parts for cam.

Thanks

Do you mean the LT4 cam or the LT4 HOT cam? You can get the LT4 for $180 from a dealer, and then you're going to need gaskets and rtv, timing chain and gears is a good idea too. Altogether probably a little over $250 bucks. Maybe more if I'm forgetting something, but not a lot more. It's a good time to flush your coolant and change your oil too, so you could add that in. It's also a very good time to put some roller rockers in place of the stock stamped steel ones.

lt4 and lt4 HOT cam are both roller, don't use them if your motor is flat tappet. a hot cam might be too much for a 305. i have a HOT cam in my vette l98 and it's great. was only $185 from scoggin dickey i think, i didnt have to get screwed in studs installed cuz the vette heads got them stock. i had my valve guides and the steel spring seats milled and got new springs
