Best heads for my combo to get 350-375HP around $800?
Best heads for my combo to get 350-375HP around $800?
I'm building up a 2 bolt 350 block, .030 over, stock rods and crank, Speed Pro/Sterling H345NP30 pistons, and Comp XE268 cam (.477/.480 lift, and I got the whole kit, so I have matched springs, etc). I'm going to be getting the comp roller lifters, too. Intake is Performer RPM with a 600CFM Edelbrock carb, stock mechanical fuel pump. I'm bolting up the NON-Torque Step Hedman shorties with the matched Y-pipe going into a gutted cat and out a Hooker Aerochamber catback. That's basically everything I can think of, but if I forgot anything, lemme know.
This is gonna be a daily driver, so I don't want to go absolutely crazy. I want something with good low end. Not worried really above 6K-6500 RPM. I'm looking to peak between 350-375HP. I wanna keep it around $800.

I would contact World Products and let them know of your situation. They're pretty good at helping people out.

You might want to look at a bit larger cfm carb there. Or buy mine. Cause I was told by Summit that mine is a little too small now.
I've put the figures into the formula, and at above 5k rpms if I recall, we need like a 670 cfm carb, if I recall correctly.

Im going with the mod. vortec heads from sdpc. There under $700 and should run very well right out of the box. You need a dedicated manifold, but if your going carb you can get the for under $150. Powerhouse has one that is designed for the heads. I believe it runs $130. Its not just drilled to bolt up, its actually port matched(well as much as you can expect I havent seen one myself) to the heads.

id say go with the vortecs, ive heard a lot of praises on them, a little porting wont hurt, and you cant go too crazy with the springs out of the box, but besides that they make awesome power, although you need to spend a little more on the model specific intake..

The vortec heads from sdpc come able to accept .550 lift, though I wouldnt push it, and you can have them tapped for screw in studs which is highly advisable if your running a cam with lots of lift.
