Help with finding good Heads and Cam!
I am looking to upgrade my heads and cam in my 86 Z28. I belive the block is a 2 bolt main but could be a 4. It is a 350 bored to a 355. I am looking for a little better flowing heads and a better cam. Nothing to big and i don't want that big cam sound. Could you guys give me some heads and cam specs so that I can see what prices I can get those specs for. My Co. gets good discounts from a couple of well know manufactures. Mainly Edelbrock. Thanks for the help. Or if you have the Edelbrock part # that would kick some **** to.

Well you could use Performer or Perf RPM heads... Edelbrock has no really good cams though. It doesnlt matter how many bolts are in the block's main caps.
For a cam, look at a Comp XE262.

I can help some, the lower the cc rating, like 58, 64, 72 the more compression you'll have. On a 350 seems like anything above 64cc with flat top pistons ( I presume) will hurt your compression.
Right now I have 76 cc heads (terrible) and have 8.5:1 compression. So, I'm looking for some 64 or 58 cc ones, preferabbly with larger valves like 2.02/1.6 where as I have a 1.94/1.5s right now.
I'm sure the experts can help out more.

Get a set of 305 heads from the wrecker and port and polish them yourself. They will work great on a 350 and you'll save hundreds of $$$

Just follow the link at the end of my sig.
Then add a Comp XE 262 or Crane PowerMax 272 and you ought to be in the 13s, with a very driveable car to boot!
