I am installing a pair of twisted wedge heads ported by brodix and deck to 62ccs. Plusm I will be driving a Comp XE 284 hyd cam with 1.6 ratio Scorpion Roller Rockers.

I was told that stock length pushrods will not work (+.100?), so how do I check them. i read an article on the comp cams website and it looks kinda complex.

Now, what is the diff between these 2 types of pushrod length checkers:
1. The actual "fake" pushrods used for length checking
2. The little thingey that looks like a rocker arm

I am looking for the easier of the two and basic instructions on both.

I prefer the adjustable push rod...

Comp's web site, in the catalog, has a great tech section on that, in the installation instructions; read it, it should answer your questions.

 

well i'll tell you this i sure don't like checking push rod length. to me it's not an exact science, it's more like " that looks pretty good". i made my checking push rods. just took a push rod (actually 2 ,one for a roller and one for a non roller) cut in half tapped one half 1/4-28 and silver soldered a 1/4-28 bolt ,minus the head in the other half along with a jam nut. then i just screw it to where i ithnk looks good and measure what i have and buy push rods to match. i've never used the checking thingy, but have always wanted to try one out.
