Car wouldn't start all of a sudden fix
Just to help anyone with a starting problem like mine:
A few days ago I had a problem with my '89 Camaro not starting all of a sudden. I had drove it into work with it working great, and then went out to start it to leave and it wouldn't start. I tried several times and the battery and starter were working great. I was close to empty on gas when I came in so I started thinking it was really empty, so after getting a few gallons for the tank, and tried again--no help. I had several people in the parking lot with theories, but I ended up getting a ride home and checking this thirdgen site. I did searches, read, and learned quite a lot. After reading and thinking it was fuel, I was thinking fuel pump, so I would have to check the pressure at the fuel rail (passenger's side of engine), but after further checking I realized I wasn't getting any spark--I took spark plug wire off, screw driver in end of it hold very close to engine while someone cranks engine--no spark. Did same off coil--no spark there. The coil was only a year or so old so I didn't think it was that. Anyway, in the end, it turned out to be the ignition module, and it's not that hard a fix if you know that is it, and you like lying on the engine to work under the distributer cap. Once it was replaced it started right up first time.
