350 Tpi
350 Tpi
I just got my first camaro. It is a manual 350 TPI. It is completly stock.
I want it to have about 350 hp at the rear wheels. I was thinking K&N airfilter, heads, exaust, cams, and an engine rebuild. I would be doing all the work myself. I was first wondering if someone would tell me what of the over mods works best. Like certain heads and headers and cams and all that good stuff. I really appreciate all the advice in advance thanks a lot.

Welcome to the boards!
I hate to be the barer of bad new but if it's a 350 TPI with a manual it's not stock. That or it's a 305 TPI with a 5 speed. Never the less 350s with manuals don't exist. Either way I'd check your vin. As for mods exhaust is usually near the first things folks do after a good tune up and the free mods. As for opinions on which parts are best I suggest searching cause everyone has different opinions.

You didn't say what year it was. If it is post 87 then it will have the slightly stronger World Class manual trans. In either case if the motor is definently a 350 it would be a good idea to avoid clutch dumps and hard shifting. The stock 305 can trash a T-5 if it is abused.
But like Black 91 Z28 said if it is for sure a 350 it isn't technically stock. Maybe the previous owner replaced the stock motor with a stock L98. Check the back side of the driver side of the motor near the bell housing. It will say either 5.0 or 5.7. You can also check casting numbers. I think the last three numbers in the casting are on the bottom passenger side of the motor.
350 RWHP is pretty stout. You already know the right heads, cam and exhaust will get you there and after searching this board you should get some good ideas. But probably your toughest task will be making the TPI deliver the air for the rpms you will need to reach that horse power goal. Maybe not tough but expensive.

I hope you weren't told that's the original motor?
Oh yeah, I'd suggest Hooker headers and Hooker cat-back.
