I'll bet this one has come up before but my last post leads me to believe that my recent tune up messed with my timing. So I was just wondering, what do I get the timing set at. I am looking for pure performance, what else? I have a 92 Z28 Convert. with a 5.0 tpi. Other mods would be a 2.5 " pipes with a flowmaster muffler 'n such. Thanks for all your help, it's really appreciated.

Hey, well I got the GM Base 350 crate engine a couple months ago, and in the book that I got from it, it says optimal timing should be 10 degrees at 700 RPM's. I always set it to that, and it works great, granted you have a different engine, but I can't see it being too much of a difference to try setting it at that.

Hey, I have an 87 TA with a 305 TPI. Ive been told the stock base timing is 6 degrees...whether that is what yours is Im not sure. But Im planning on advancing my timing to get that extra kick on the low end. I hear 10 is the highest before you get detonation. Im planning to go 8ish...maybe 10 if Im feel it will work. Hope that helps.
