about f.i.

i have a 89 305, i bought it like 4 months ago and i noticed on the lid of the air cleaner it say fuel injected. i thought that are cars were either tbi or tpi? this is probley a real dumb question but i'm new to thois stuff so...

Both systems are forms of feul injection, since you have an aircleaner lid, you probably have a tbi 5.0 (305). Its real easy to check though, just take the air cleaner off and if you have two holes (venturies) with some plastic giant pill looking things hanging above the holes then its a tbi.

"F.I." can also be "False Information", "Ford Idiots" (redundant, I know), or "Fornicating Ignoramus" (see previous), but rest assured, these guys are steering you straight.

These systems are also know as EFI, or Electronic Fuel Injection, since the injection is electronically controlled by the ECM.
