Very Strange Problem

I have a 85 Trans AM, 305, TPI. I have a problem only SOMETIMES, seems like it happens more then the car is warm. I hear a static coming through my left side stereo speakers, and the car will start to idle erratically. When driving at a cruise speed (just holding the same MPH), the car will act like its missing, but when you take your foot off the throttle or give it gas, the problem isnt there. Sitting at an idle, the same erratic idle problem is there, and sometimes the motor will quit abrubtly, but will always start right back up. When you dont hear the static coming from the speaker, the problem at an idle is not present, but it seems that the problem is there when you are at a cruise speed weather there is any static coming from the speakers. ANY TAKERS FOR THIS PROBLEM?
