Damn are they really that much? I don't know about Kragen though. They wanted like $350 for the B&M console shifter when they sold the regular Megashifter for the price it should be.

My GF went to a GM dealer to get her LED lights for her Blazer's 3rd brake light. It was close to $100 I believe for that strip of bulbs.

i have heard of some people going to radioshack to buy their light bulbs...i think they spent $3 each. On my girlfriend's car though I just spent the $50. I figured if it lasted 10 years on the originals it can't be that bad this time around. $5 a year didn't seem to expensive to me.
I thought everyone knew that you could get replacement 3rd brake light bulbs at RADIOSCHACK for a $1.99 + tax EACH. Just remenber to take a sample bulb with you to get the correct one.

Every single time I go to the junkyard I "borrow" every single third-brake light bulb I can find. I just cant spend $5+ for a little tiny bulb...

Yes, unfortunately they cannot replace a single LED and thus require the entire strip being replaced. Expensive as hell, and it pissed people off when I would fail them for having one of their LED's out in their third brake light. *shrug* not my fault their car doesn't work.

You should see why my neighbor did you mine. I remembered him telling me he "rigged" cheaper bulbs to fit. I never thought about it until now because 2 bulbs are burned out.
Well I pulled the strip and went WTF. He bent the metal wires up from the strip...bent the wires from bulb #194 down and soldered them together
It works but looks like a PITA to change. I dont have a soldering iron so I have to get one I guess.
I need to get a picture of this stupid setup.
I think im getting a high rise spoiler so Its gonna be gone anyways.

Before I found the Radio Shack bulbs, I remember paying, or almost paying $12 each at Autozone about 6-7 years ago. To heck with that, I'll run with them burnt out before paying $12, lol. As long as the other 2 work, it's cool.
But we have that stupid E-Check, lol. And it ticks me off it's not in every county. WTF, lol. They really need to eliminate it all together since the equipment sucks and failed my clean burning car compared to a smoking Caprice that fast passed, grrr.
