What is it? It's definitely a GM part, nothing aftermarket, and I don't have an alarm. Through the slit in the box I can see a little circuit board inside. And the sticker on the outside says to only open it in a static-free environment, so as not to damage it. Could it be related to my oh-so-moody digital dash that only works when it feels like it?

Oh yea... that's one of them.
You know, one of those things.
It looks like it's got a couple relays?
Maybe try taking pics from different angles?
I dunno..... not much help am I?

Here's another shot of it. It doesnt look like it's got relays, I think that's just how it comes apart. I didnt take it apart because of the warning sticker on it.

i THINK I know what that is, but not 100% sure,
It LOOKS LIKE part (half) of your guage cluster. your dashbord sort of "clicks" into place and thats half of it. Those wires going to it carry voltage or signal for guages. I bet one of the green wires goes to your head temp... if you have a volt tester test the gray / pink wires. If the gray wires carry ground, and the pink wires go 12V+ when your ignition is on, then thats definetelly what it is. I think there should be a blue wire (light blue?) in there too, its your turn signal, if you test it with the your signals ON it should flash 12V+. Do it and find out...

That's the little sticker that says DO NOT OPEN!!! No visible part number anywhere on the box.
Yes I do have a digital dash, and I'm thinking it's related to the dash. I'm HOPING it's related to my dash's little problem with the odometer, and occasional non-functioning gauges. I'll go chase some wires from it later this afternoon.
