my car just clicks

I just went to start my car and it just clicks down by the starter I think it is the starter but im not positive anyone have a guess? the battery is new and the ignition coil and coil are new.

Well, the click may be your starter solenoid engaging. Try hitting the starter a couple of times with a hammer. I mean just give it a few good taps, don't smash the crap out of it. If it starts after that, you need a new starter.

Double check your battery terminals. If they're dirty they will cause a lack of current carying capability that looks the same as a bad solenoid.

I checked the terminals and they are in good shape and tight. im under my hood all the time and i keep everything in good shape. imay need to check the cable at the starter end though thanks for the help it is allways appreciated.any other suggestions are welcome.

I just fixed that problem with my car and it was the starter. The thing that stumped me for a while was that I bought a reman starter and it did the same thing as the original. Traded that one in and that did the trick. Been about 2 weeks now and no problems.

thanks azvolfan i think i have the same problem you had figures it happens when i dont have the money. autozone has a new one for $30.00 lifetime warranty cant beat that.

Have someone watch your headlights while you start it, if they dim try another battery. A bad alternator can get you home, but not start the car next time. If a dif battery works, it's the alternator, if not....the starter

thanks joel but i think the battery is ok the inside light is bright and the power antenna and radio are on but i will check to make sure.
