Aging oil pump?

190,000 miles on the 305 w/carb. It seems to be tight when restarting hot. Of course the oil pressure isn't what it used to be. Could a failing pump be starving my old loosened up engine of oil, making it difficult to start hot. This engine is completly original from 1983 except for minor water pump, and tune up stuff. Battery checked good at autozone but I don't think they put a load on it. I'm asking this question so that I can rule out the oil pump idea.
