tranny not shifting at proper rpm + rough shifting

Just yesterday my car started shifting oddly. It usually shifts at 2500 and drops down to 1500 in the higher gear. Now when Im in 2nd it wont shift until I hit 4000 and will drop to about 3000 in 3rd and with quiet a rough trasition as well. I found out that if Im in 2nd and about 3000rpm, I can force it to go into 3rd by quickly shifting from drive->neutral->drive again. This doesn't work at a lower rpm in 2nd though. This still gives a rough shift. I think the shift from 3rd to 4th is still more rough than it should be but not as severe as 2nd to 3rd. Cruising in 3rd or 4th is ok but in 2nd gear I cant get any power. If Im in 2nd and around 2000 rpm, I can shift between drive and neutral and feel nothing. I've also noticed that while Im not moving with my foot off of the brakes and I shift from neutral to drive, the car goes into 2nd instead of 1st and its a really rough shift too. Whats going on? Plz help!

Nevermind. I seem to have just listed all the symptoms of low tranny fluid. Urgh. Stress at school will make you overlook dumb things like this.
