how can you tell a bad MAP sensor or TPS???

is there any way to know if your MAP sensor or the TPS is bad??? i tried the paper clip in the ALDL, but i only got straight code 12s. i kinda dont wanna drop 50 bones to replace em if one or both are fine.....so how do you test them??????

Code 12 is telling you that your computer is working properly and not displaying any trouble codes. If one or both of these sensors is bad it will flag you "service engine soon" light. Do you have any reason to believe one of these is bad?

You can test the TPS sensor with a multimeter.

hmmmm i dont have a multimeter.....i wonder if i can borrow one of those from autozone....if so, how EXACTLY do you use it???

oh, hawaii...i have been experiencing awful bucking and jittering of my rpms, and now kinda reving(more like jumping) erraticly. havnt been able to trace a vacuum leak yet, and these sensors funtions seem to the things i have problems with.

guess ill check the codes again.
