Cold Start...Won't IDLE

So I have this 383 IROC. The EGR solenoid isn't hooked up because I couldn't find the wire. Don't know where it went but I sure couldn't find it. So the car will start fine but dies unless you give it gas. After it warms up like 5 min or so it runs and idles fine but if you let off the gas before that it dies. Do I need an EGR block off plate? Anyone running one?

Find the control wire and fix it. On a TPI with ECM control the car will run much better if it is working correctly. Failure to do so will result in excessive emissions, possible overheating in the combustion chamber and spark knock. Remember F/A ratio and it's delivery depend on all emission components working correctly. Altering EGR will fool the O2 sensor and alter performance.

Looking at TomP's problems...maybe it is a leaky injector. We pretty much have the same symptoms.
