turning signal lever
turning signal lever
so i was driving in my car, '83 camaro z28, when suddenly my high beams go out... scared, i pull back the lever to see if i have any lights at all. i pull and *SNAP* the rod breaks off in the switch... (luckily i had dim lights) but now i have a broken lever... (and can't control my windshield wipers) how would someone go about fixing this and what would it cost money wise? (ofcourse this shows my ignorance as a 16 year old driver)
Go to a junkyard and get one or look for someone parting out a car online/ebay. If you want to see how it works, Vader has posted a gigantic diagram in this thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=31962

actually the signal stem comes out by just turning and pulling it out. unless you have cruise, then there is a wire that runs back into the column. A new one from GM costs less then $20 bucks, or you can get one in the junkyard
I would have suggested gm if they hadn't tried to charge me 20 dollars for each light in the back of my spoiler(there are 5). I guess it's always good to try the dealer, just don't expect a good deal always

I think it can vary dealer to dealer...I got a quote for a part from a buick dealer, then for the same gm p/n from chevy for like 2 bucks cheaper on a 14 dollar part
