stupid harmonic balancer question

How far in should the balancer be??I still have 1/8" from the seal to the end of balancer..and a bit more to hit the oil cooler lines..5/8" of the balancer is within the seal..The crank snout is about 1/2" off the front of the balancer..
Im hoping the 5/8" is enough..I mocked the pulley and it seems to line up..It slides in no problem up to this point

the dampner should bottom out aginst the crank gear, inside the timing cover. if you're using a installer tool it's pretty easy to figure out when it stops moving inward.
