My car decided to try to die

So I've still not worked out some of the little rattles adn such from installing the new engine, but I'm getting closer.. I was in the car the other day when all the sudden the car's idle dropped and no matter how much I pushed on the gas the car wouldn't respond.. It seems to me like the injectors may not be spraying correctly or maybe I'm getting no fuel pressure. This is happening when I'm not actually moving.
I just replaced the injectors and the fuel pump, so is it possible that one of the two is defective?
If so how can I tell?
Thanks
-Justin

When you replaced the fuel pump, you DID replace the fuel filter, right?

The easiest method to check the fuel system is to connect a fuel pressure gauge. If pressure doesn't maintain at 11-13 PSIG, you have a problem, Houston...

I didn't replace the filter because the filter was replaced only months before.. Is that bad?

Is the throttle cable connected? (Maybe a dumb question, but it IS an engine swap.)

TBI Car .. Put a timing light on the car and point it at the injectors. If it's gotta problem with fuel and the sparks ok the timing light will show no injector pattern. If the ignition modual may be going bad then the timing light will start shutting off.

When all is good, You can watch your injector pattern with a timing light

yup, the throttle cable is connected.. IT goes, and it goes good, just occasionally it seems like it has a huge dip in power and it can't do anything but start stalling out..

I'll have to try the timing light on the injectors.. I never knew that..
Thanks guys!

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are loosing spark and the light shuts off you might loose the injector at the same time.
