Frikin Valvetrain! TFS heads and Roller rockers

OK, I have had my car in the shop long enough for the gas to go stale.

Now my roller rockers are too big (1.6 ratio Scorpions). I was told the valvesprings are hitting the trunion. There are no valve clearance issues, but just that the roller rockers don't fit.

Anyone else heard of this?
I just want some info before I spend another 200 on roller rockers.

Well by trunion I am assuming that't the underside of the rocker arm near the springs where the nut tightens down on. This may be to obvious and you have probably already checked but perhaps would longer pushrods to correct the geometry help?

Like I said though that is probably to obvious. Surely a shop building a motor would have thought of that.

exactly

first they told me that the pushrods were (waay) too dhort, as TFS told me they would be 3/4 inch too short. Then today they told me that they need 8 different rockers, for either the intake or exhaust.

Dam I hate this. I told them to screw it and use the stock stamped steel rockers, but they told me that TFS said it was a bad idea.

Thanks,

I would assume they thought it was a bad idea because you are close to the limit for stamped steel rockers on lift. I beleive the slots are good for .510 in lift max before they are hitting the stud.

Is TFS offering any suggestions for rockers that will work? If money is an issue summit has those comp cams chrome moly roller tip rockers for 12.39 a piece and for real cheap the summit brand stapmed steel long slot non rollers are about $5 a piece.

the trunion is the part that the rocker pivots on. you need to make sure you have correct push rod length, if you do there should be retainers and keepers that will provide you addtional clearance.
