Removing the rear suspension
Removing the rear suspension
Can anyone give me some tips on how to remove the rear suspension safely? I have been caution about the rear springs but I don't know what I should do to do it safely. Please any advice would be most helpful.

I did it like this using a floor jack and jack stands:
Raise and support car by the rear axle. Disconnect rear shocks.
Place jack stands under sub-frames where the front of the control arms attach.
Slowly lower rear end to the ground. The springs will fall out.
Keep an eye on the brake line so ya don't stretch it. May have to disconnect it.

i think i'd just start off with the jack stands supporting the car ,not by the axle instead of moving them like zz said. and you'll find there's a bit more to unbolt if you want to r&r the rear. 2 floor jacks make it a bit more stable to install, or remove, but to remove it'll pretty much fall out on it's own.

Thanks for the help, I was worried about how much pressure the springs were under. Didn't want them to shoot out and take off a leg or something. Aparantly it is the front end suspension I have to worry about doing that.
