Can some answer the question about what year T-Tops were available in the GTA with 5.7 engine? My understanding is that 1989 was the first year for T-Tops and the 5.7, and that 1987 and 1988 were hard top only with the 5.7 Is this correct?

I have seen conflicting descriptions on E-bay for GTA's that are for sale years 87 through 89.

some think there were no t top 350s, but there were, do a search on the History board.

Mdformula350 on here has a 91 with this combo.

 

i have an 89 gta with a 350 and t-tops, its stock like that, i had a 90 formula 350 hardtop, i'm pretty sure in 1990 they didn't make the 350 with t-tops anymore.

 

I'm not entirely sure how correct this guy was, but what I was told that f-bodies that were to be sold in the USA that had 5.7 engines did not come with t-tops. But the ones that were to be sold in Canada were allowed to have the t-tops. Like I said, I'm not sure how accurate he was. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents

 

That guy is wrong, t tops 350s were sold in the US.

 

The conflict isnt with TT's and 350's its with TT's 350's and 5 speeds.

 

Well, considering there are no 350 5spd combos, then there couldnt' be a TT version with both.

 

I figured he was wrong, I didn't feel like questioning how he got that information. What should I expect from a Ford salesman.
