6.0 rod 350?

I was reading the newes car craft. They build a 350 using 6.0 inch rods.Wouldn't this make the pistons come up farther than the top of the block.I race 4-wheelers.When we put longer rods or stroker cranks in them we put a spacer plate between the cylinder and lower end.

I am thinking you just have to use special pistons with the wrist pins .3 inchs have than regular 350 pistons.Am I right? If I am I would like to find some more info about this.I have put my car on hold for a while.I have 3 other projects going on right now to.I am working 50-55 hours a week to try and pay to get them all done.I am going to wait so I can dedicate all my funds to my car.

So what about this 6.0 rod 350.It says the it creates a better rod to stroke ratio. It says a 350 has a 1.63:1 ratio stock and this makes it 1.72:1.How are they getting this?A 350 has a 3.45 inch stroke. If I take 5.7 and divide it by 3.45 I get 1.65:2.Whenever I get do 6.0 it comes out 1.73:9.I am not sure how they are getting this.Either I have the stroke wrong or the formula for getting the stroke wrong.

Can someone please explain this to me.

Using a longer rod would move the piston farther up the cyclinder, which is why you must use special pistons with the wrist pin moved higher up into the piston. This can create a problem though, because if you move the wrist pin up too high, then it is behind the oil control ring, which can cause oil consumption problems.

Also, i think a 350 has a 3.48" stroke. I am not sure where the get those ratios, but I do understand why longer rods are better. When you are using a longer rod, you reduce side-scrubbing action of the piston, by effectively reducing the angle at which the rod meets the piston.
