It seems that I've seen or heard of two piece valve covers that have a plate on top allowing you to adjust the valves without completely removing the valve covers. I searched Summit & Jegs and didn't see any, so I thought I would ask about them here. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

Hmm, never heard of that. I know they sell a plate, that so when you adjust the rockers, oil doens't spurt everywhere.

I used to have some of those.

They were Edelbrock. The top plate was held on by a few allen screws and IT DID make it easier to adjust valve lash since I had a solid cam.

IIRC, those things were VERY tall. I had Crane Gold roller rockers with poly locks, and stud girdles under there. I think you could slide a .050" feeler gauge in between the bolt caps and the valve cover. J/K

I haven't seen them in a long time. I had that car back in '94 and haven't looked for them since. They may not be advertised that way. They may just be listed under 'tall valve covers' or something like that.
