Timing

Gotta a little six pack! Thinking it might've jumped on me. Checked the distributor it's not pointing at the #1 or #4 more like the #6 or #3 when the crank is on 0 degs. I don't hear anything hitting and I turned it by bar(the crank) no metal on metal restictions. It turns over but won't run!Got spark and everything. Just need some feedback 'fore I break her down. Thanx

I'd static time it and try it again. Don't be too surprised if the timing doesn't hold for long, but I'm guessing that you suspect that already.

You

You Sure that its getting fuel...Turn your key to on seed if you can hear it...If not dissconnect the line at the fuel filter(GOOD IDEA TO REPLACE Filter) Then turn the key to on and see if fuel sprays out... You may have an obstruction in the filter.

You probably are already aware of this, but for the benefit of others reading the thread, the firing order and cylinder numbering sequence is different on the smaller Chevrolet V-6 engines:

well back to square one It starts then dies wont idle Timing is good tomorrow I invest in a fuel pressure gauge just to get a reading. Ecm didn't chunk out any codes. should I try to find a diagnostic checker to run test and if so want kind? If I find the pressure to be fine and the regulator ok What would be the next best avenue to seek coil, pickup, spark module?

50 lbs is the reading so i know for a fact that gas is there in the rail so I checked the TPS its fine and smooth on the readings. Should I attempt to replace the regulator just cause the reading is over spec? I checked for power on the coil it was there U know this sounds like the spark module since the spark seems weak just maybe should check it out! Upon reading a thread on this I took the advice of the members and replaced it without checking the device cause the fault is hard to see! Viola runs smooth now!!! Whoopi u!!!!!!! ,smoother than before always thought it was those old injectors going bad so now this little problem prompted me to do that work I was always gonna do on the weekend like checking everything out and the tuneup and now my car runs B*tching bad*ss HEHE Whoopi U Moral to the thread is do the research, listen and compare and hopefully U will spend less on the repair! I did!!!!! Whoopi U!! Time for new filters on the tranny and maybe some new U joints there good but who cares new is better and finish out the poly bearing replacement until next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
